  • New Album Recording is Done!

We are proud to announce that the new album is complete! We finished vocals and overdubs in Brooklyn this week. The blizzard didn't stop us.

There are nine tracks - featuring guest appearances by members of the band Hem, James Abrams of the Abrams Brothers, Jeremy Ezell of The Well Reds, and pedal steel master Bob Hoffnar. The record was produced by Gary Maurer of Hem, who counts many Union veterans in his Ohio family tree.

Mixing begins in February. A release date for "An Army Without Music: Civil War Stories from Hallowed Ground"  will be announced soon.

"The songwriting team of Vanessa Olivarez and Elizabeth Elkins is a powerful one. Their music is rooted in the deep traditions of the American South and they write about history in a way that is both personal and timeless."
